HIRING Catering Sales Manager (Marriott Anchorage Downtown)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The ability to direct and maintain the sales process
- Tend to all inquiry phone calls/walk-ins
- Conduct tours and meet with potential clients
- Full comprehension of complete menu and ability to creatively sell our options
- Negotiate contracts to secure maximum revenue/profit while satisfying client needs
- Conduct and maintain appropriate trace/follow-up systems for all sales activity
- Ability to translate client needs/wishes into written form on event orders
- Clearly communicate the needs of our clients to banquet manager/chef
- Maintain potential/existing client database
- Create appropriate sales collateral and tools for department
- Participate in appropriate weekly communication meetings with operations team to ensure successful events.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Director of Catering as necessary on projects.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Required
- 6 months - 2 years related experience in the hospitality industry
- Organized & detail oriented
Preferred
- Thorough knowledge of property, space, capacities, concept/food style (menus)
- Knowledge of sales/negotiation/closing process
- High level of creativity, enthusiasm and flexibility
- Operational experience in catering or banquet department at a full service hotel
