Responsible for completing verifications, testing, repairs, and maintenance on tools. This position will also train crews how to safely use torque and tension tooling.
Responsibilities:

Test calibrated tooling daily for accuracy
- Test bolts for flange specific torque based on manufacture procedure

Gather and manage all bolt manufacture paperwork for turbine turnover package
-
Make repairs and maintenance required on tooling
-
Fill out tooling logs and turbine related documentation
-
Complete audits to track proper installation practices and correct torque procedures
-
Manage onsite inventory of tools
-
Assign tooling per crew and fit sockets according to standard operating procedure (SOP) for daily testing of calibrated tooling
-
Review tower manufacture specifications and bolt sizes to ensure we have the correct sockets and tooling onsite
-
Check anchor bolts against turbine for fitment issues and proper turning sleeves in the tensioning head

Track and maintain all certifications for site specific tooling
-
Monitor all tooling for calibration dates for potential expiration during project
-
Schedule calibrations for tools that are set to expire

Create and share lesson learned documents and best practices that identify issues to ensure future projects do not repeat similar mistakes

Collaborate with Project site teams in establishing and implementing safe and efficient work processes and best practices in regards to tooling

Conduct on-site training as required on various test equipment and/or torque/tension equipment

Assist Laydown Yard Foreman as needed

Participate and be involved in the Plan of the Day (POD) meetings daily to bring up any and all relevant issues
-
Review Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, manuals, permits, Scope of Work (SOW) and any other applicable requirement associated with site specific tasks

Assist with quality readiness meetings and page turn meetings for site specific erection
-
Assist site Field Quality Manager (FQM) in other site related quality matters

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent and three or more years’ of related experience in construction or equivalent combination of training and experience

Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role
- Proficient in one or more craft areas

Ability to take initiative
-
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
-
Ability to lead by example and communicate effectively
-
Ability to compute basics numbers, read scales and use simple fractions
-
Computer experience in Microsoft Office, Excel and e-mail
-
Ability to work well under pressure and within timeline.
Working Environment:

Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
-
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat
-
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
-
Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
