Texas Meter & Device is seeking several full time Field Meter Technicians in the Colorado Springs, CO, area. Our project is ramping up!
** You must reside in the greater Colorado Springs area. We are not hiring out of state/out of area as there is no per diem or relocation package associated with this position. **
Wage starts at $20/hr for your training period (generally 1-2 weeks), then your pay will be based on production - it is UNCAPPED!
Currently our technicians are averaging from $20/hr - $35/hr OR MORE depending on their own individual production.
Again, there is no cap on production - so technicians can make more than the listed ranges.

Under the general direction of the Project Manager and/or Field Supervisor, the AMI Technician will be upgrading a current system of electric, water and gas utilities.
Responsibilities include:
· Exchanging residential and commercial class electric meters
· Retrofitting residential and commercial class gas modules
· Replacing residential and commercial class water modules
· Use a work order management system to capture site data
· Maintain accurate records of work completed
· Oversee the materials, equipment, vehicle and tools; Safely operate a company vehicle
· Keep track of new and used inventory
· Proper use of an iPad to collect new meter data
· Manages daily client communications, data and reporting
· Coordinating, scheduling and meeting quality / quantity requirements
· Provide courteous and excellent internal and external customer service
· The safe and proper use of a TMD service vehicle
· Other duties and tasks as assigned or necessary
Requirements:
· Mechanical aptitude is necessary (show it on your resume!) Electrical experience is a plus!
· Ability to use hand held computing device and other equipment as required for the position
· Ability to work with minimal supervision
· Ability to stand on feet, bend or stoop for a prolonged period of time. The work is performed outdoors and through inclement weather as necessary
· Ability to carry out duties in a safe and efficient manner
· Stable Multi-year Work History
· Attention to Detail
· Dependability and Reliability
· Previous electrical and/or plumbing experience preferred but not required
· Good Communication Skills (speaking, reading and writing)
· Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
· Must be a minimum of 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years of personal or professional driving experience due to insurance requirements
· Must have steel or composite toe work boots
· Must have own personal Smart phone
· Additional Requirements: Background check clearance including drug screening and I-9 documentation as required by law
Shift and Pay Info:
- Training wage will be $20/hour to start then it will be based on production once you have successfully completed training. Production/Piece Rate pay is UNCAPPED!

- End of Project Bonus between $1000.00 to $2500.00 CAN be earned based on the following criteria:

Schedule/Hours:
- Generally Monday – Friday, with possible Saturday work required at times to support the Project schedule
- Work hours are 8 hours between 7am – 5pm…Typically 7:00am to 3:30pm with 1/2 hour lunch. However this may vary based on project needs. Some exceptions may apply.
