We are looking for an experienced construction foreman to fill a working-supervisory role. This position combines the fulfillment of handcrafting physical solutions while also playing a key role in the supervision and decision-making of larger scale construction projects.
The successful applicant will possess the ability to perform the following:
- Oversee the assigned scope, including the management of on-site material and a small crew. Provide a primary point of contact for communication between project manager and crew members. Schedule and manage equipment needs and crew needs with the Project Manager.
- Plan daily work for a small crew while including oneself as a working member of that crew. Assign and clearly communicate tasks to each crew member. Work with the team by expertly performing such tasks as operating equipment (excavator, loader, skid steer, trencher, hydrovac), placing both dry and wet utilities; forming, pouring, and finishing concrete; and grading using grade laser.
- Read and understand construction plans/blueprints. Possess a thorough knowledge of common materials and installation procedures for water and/or electrical utilities.
- Take ownership of work delivered and ensure that all worked performed is per the client's specifications and company quality expectations. Teach and correct crew members when installations do not match specs or meet quality standards.
- Understand locate markings and follow requirements for underground utility safety prior to digging. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Schedule regular maintenance of on-site company equipment.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with city and county inspectors.
Starting pay will be based off of experience, but motivated employees who are willing to work hard and learn will see pay raises regularly as they grow with the company.
CDL is a plus.
Occasional overnight travel out of The Valley may be necessary, but room/ board/ per diem will be provided.
