Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The Pastry Cook will be responsible for preparing a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods in accordance with our recipes and quality standards.
Duties:
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, such as cakes, cookies, pies, and bread
- Decorate pastries using icing, glazes, and toppings
- Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new pastry items
- Assist in catering events by preparing pastry items as needed
Skills:
- Proficient in food preparation techniques and pastry production
- Knowledge of various baking techniques and equipment, including working with knives
- Experience in a catering or bakery setting is a plus
- Strong customer service skills to interact with clients when needed
- Understanding of food handling procedures and food safety regulations
- Culinary background with a focus on pastry arts
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment within the food industry
