District Fleet Supervisor

We are hiring a District Fleet Supervisor.
Overall Summary:
As the District Fleet Supervisor, you will manage and direct defined aspects of fleet operations.
· Oversee policy compliance and reporting as it relates to the fleet
· Develop and implement vehicle and equipment specifications and cost management programs
· Develop and maintain outside vendor and service provider relationships.
· The District Fleet Supervisor will also have direct supervision of district fleet staff.
Reports to: National Fleet Manager
Work Location: Brandon, MS, Aurora, CO
Work Schedule: Mon – Fri alternating shifts depending on facility visited (must be flexible to work alternate hours and days during emergencies, special events, training sessions, etc.)
Travel Requirements: 25% as position requires audits, training, client and vendor visits, equipment inventory management.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Daily Local Fleet Supervisor Responsibilities
· Provides an adequate fleet of functioning equipment to the local Transportation Manager and/or Cross Dock Managers
· Identifies any issues that would prohibit the ability to meet equipment use expectations, and communicate the reason(s) immediately to the local Transportation Manager and/or Cross Dock Managers
· Documents each issue presented locally from the daily performance call and/or received verbally or via e-mail; immediately communicates a plan of action to resolve each to his/her supervisor; and provides an hourly update for all major issues, and one final update for minor issues until each issue is resolved
· Completes immediate repairs needed through partnership vendors and/or provides backup equipment, and communicates the resolution and/or plan until a resolution is confirmed
· Certifies equipment is functioning, trucks have adequate fuel; and all staff have access to equipment inventory/locations, truck keys and fuel cards prior to all route departures/ commencement of shuttle operations
· Maintains an Accurate Equipment Inventory in Fleetio: a record of all equipment – updated daily
Daily District Leadership Responsibilities
· Works with the assigned Fleet Supervisors, Transportation Managers and/or Cross Dock Managers to identify and determine equipment needs
· Responsible for management duties related to fleet program and enforcement of fleet policy to ensure the efficient and effective use of company-owned and/or leased vehicles
· In collaboration with senior leadership, initiates, monitors, and recommends adjustments to the fleet policy to maximize the fleet’s efficiency and profitability, ideally reduces the liability exposure and follows industry Best Practices.
· Escalation contact for Assigned District Transport Managers, Compliance Managers and Fleet Supervisors in matters related to the administration of the fleet policy.
· Knowledgeable of, and advises senior leadership on, fleet-specific regulatory matters and related fleet policy compliance.
Qualifications:
· Class A CDL - REQUIRED *** 3 years exp
· Fleet Management experience REQUIRED *** 5 years exp
· Mechanical Experience REQUIRED *** 5 years exp
· Strong rapport-building and effective relationship skills with persons having a broad range of backgrounds
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential.
· Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), strong presentation skills; an effective listener
· Fleet Industry knowledge
· Proficient in at least one of the data visualizations tools, Excel; Fleetio
