Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Lead Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our facility.
Duties:
- Keep inventory of equipment, tools, and materials.
- Troubleshoot equipment accurately and repair breakdowns quickly to maintain operating efficiency.
- Perform preventative maintenance and service on landscape power equipment. This will include commercial mowers, 2-cycle equipment, utility vehicles, trailers, and trucks.
- Maintain records and equipment status for all equipment being repaired or serviced.
- Fabrication, including, but not limited to welding.
- Pick up parts and materials from vendors; deliver to job sites when needed.
- Communicate with managers internally as needed in order to ensure crews have proper equipment to perform work.
- Maintain shop, yard, and office area. Ensure the overall safety of these areas to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Monitor vehicle condition as recorded on weekly truck reports and schedule corrective action when required.
- Monitor regular vehicle maintenance and schedule maintenance appointments when needed.
- Send all invoices and records to corporate office.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Hours are subject to change, as this position interacts with office and field.
Travel
This position might require overnight travel.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- 2+ years repair experience with mowers, small engines, 2-cycle equipment, and utility vehicles; fabrication experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills
Preferred Education and Experience
- Additional technical certifications are a plus.
- Bilingual – English & Spanish
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must possess a strong mechanical skill-set, including knowledge of basic electrical systems, hydraulic systems, mower technology and engines, both gasoline and diesel.
- Basic automotive repair experience
- Experience working with heavy equipment (Bobcat).
- A team player with good communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills, with strength in record keeping, shop cleanliness, inventory and parts ordering.
- Must have a desire to stay proactive, not reactive, as it applies to preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
- Ability to follow through on task.
