Fleet Maintenance Supervisor
This position will direct and coordinate activities of the DOT fleet Class 8 maintenance department to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities and personnel. Responsibilities include schedule training of mechanics, planning, assigning and directing work, conducting performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining mechanics, addressing complaints and resolving problems
The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning and scheduling repair work for the work group to ensure that all work is done in a safe and timely manner, reducing lost productivity.
Essential Functions Fleet Maintenance Supervisor:
- Oversee the records management of all Class 8 equipment
- Maintain warranties, PM schedule and repair records
- Oversee the ordering of parts and maintain parts inventory
- Manage the repair and maintenance of customers Class 8 equipment
- Assist in maintaining safety and health policies.
- Maintain shop manuals, catalogues and bulletins
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment in the shop
- Report all injuries and safety violations to the Corporate Safety Manager
- Ensure that the service department performs with a positive attitude and a sense of urgency that exceeds customer expectations
- Inspect equipment to ensure they are being maintained properly
- Review Mechanics work orders for accuracy and completeness
- Must have strong skills in Microsoft Office specifically Excel and Word along with fleet-related software

Fleet Maintenance Supervisor Requirements:
- Proven knowledge of Heavy Equipment Class 8 and Trailer Refrigeration Fleet Maintenance, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Must have at least 3+ years experience in maintaining Class 8 equipment.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office specifically excel and Word
- Knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, diesel maintenance of Class 8 equipment, diagnosis, and repair to fleet operation.
- Builds positive employee relations with employees. Take action to address and resolve requests and situations.
- Coaches and develops others using career development processes and tools.
- Effective communications skills
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Organizational skills
**Required Qualifications**
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have three to five years of direct supervisory experience in a diesel maintenance shop environment
- Must have a diesel technician background
- Must have strong skills in Microsoft Office specifically Word and Excel
