At Velez Organization, a leading Minority and Woman-Owned construction management firm, we're passionate about building excellence. We're seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Superintendent to join our growing team and play a key role in ensuring our projects are completed successfully.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee all aspects of construction projects, from planning and execution to completion, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to keep projects running smoothly.
- Conduct regular site inspections to enforce safety protocols and guarantee adherence to quality standards.
- Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, expense tracking, and implementing necessary adjustments.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Utilize construction management software (like ProCore) to monitor progress and facilitate communication.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction.
To be successful, you'll ideally have:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in construction supervision or a related field.
- OSHA 30 and NYC 62-Hour SST certifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in ProCore and MS Project (or similar software).
- The ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
