A. Summary:
The purchasing manager is responsible for the procurement of all materials used by the company, setting up inventory part numbers and ensuring the data for those parts is correct, for setting inventory levels and maintaining a good relationship with the company’s suppliers.

D. Essential Job Functions:
General Responsibilities
· Work in the development of and maintain the company goals for inventory management.
· Minimize the company inventory investment while maintaining adequate inventory levels.
· Achieve the best possible price for materials the company purchases, in keeping with the other important criteria such as delivery, quality and relationships with suppliers.
Purchasing
· Implement and manage the proper purchasing method and parameters for stocking inventory and utilize Automated Purchasing to ensure proper stock levels.
· Assist the store managers in developing branch inventory objectives and formulating policies for achieving them.
· Maintain good relations with suppliers and to see to it that the company receives favorable prices and terms.
· Keep informed of current market conditions and advise management as needed
· Follow the company’s general purchasing policy.
· Review back order report daily and expedite orders as necessary, communicate lead time changes to the salesperson associated with the order, expediting all stock and special orders.
· Work with vendors to take back dead inventory and replace it with moving inventory.
· Ensure that obsolete parts are not purchased.
· Obtain RGA’s from vendors and ensure credit is issued, responsible for negotiating the return or disposal or all obsolete, overstocked or slow-moving products.
· Buy from IWDC/Required vendors where possible.
Inventory Management
· Ensure all inventory items that can be updated by the catalogue system are setup to do so.
· When new catalogue pricing is available update the replacement cost and sell price where applicable and other vital inventory information such the UPC codes, descriptions etc.
· Utilize the catalogue system to create all new parts when possible.
· Standardize the procedures for adding parts.
· Ensure that all new inventory is assigned to the correct product category code
· Setup inventory parts to use the selling unit of measure as well as the vendor unit of measure options.
· Identify dead or slow moving products using the ABCD code analysis and the classification codes.
· Work with management to implement quantity break bracket pricing
· Work with management to implement the column pricing
· Ensure that all inventory is assigned to the correct product category code
· Ensure all serial number tracked inventory is setup properly and that the inventory is counted regularly.
· Annual Physical Inventory
· Manage and facilitate the physical inventory process to ensure an accurate count at all three branches.
· Establish and implement cycle counting in all three branches specifically for high moving and high value products
E. Additional Expectations:
· Adhere to Complete Welders Supply policies, practices and procedures
· Performs other duties as assigned/required
· Available to work weekends or overtime as needed
F. QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
· Proven experience as inventory manager or similar position OR Min 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity as an Inventory and Purchasing
· Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
· Working knowledge of inventory management software
· Basic computer skills, Microsoft office word, excel, outlook
· Basic experience with office equipment – fax, copier, etc
· An analytical mind with strong math skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organizational and planning skills
· Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
· Reliable and trustworthy

Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
