Major Duties Include:
- Position the team to accomplish daily production goals by ensuring all equipment is maintained at optimal
operating levels.
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines;
- Following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
- Gains job specific expertise through various sources (e.g. on-the-job training, trade
publications, vendor publications and manuals, etc.) Knowledge of electrical circuitry and can troubleshoot control driven
machinery.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision
measuring and testing instruments.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Actively follows the company’s Lock Out Tag Out procedures and works safely.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-3 years’ experience as a maintenance technician preferred.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Communicate orally and in writing with team members to obtain and provide useful information.
- Work in adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, and temperature extremes, indoors or outdoors to complete work assignments.
- Ability to work off ladders and elevated positions.
- Observe, record, and report unsafe working conditions.
- Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools, and equipment.
- Follow orders and complete work assignments with minimal supervision.
- Distinguish frequencies, sounds, colors and odors in the operation of equipment in order to troubleshoot for repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and schematics as they relate to buildings and utilities services systems.
- Ability to apply methods, practices, and procedures in preventative maintenance, inspection, repair, renovation, and minor construction of buildings and utilities.
- Safely operate vehicles and/or construction equipment in all weather conditions.
- Ability to drive a forklift and scissor lift. Knowledge and understanding of OSHA rules and regulations.
