Position Title: Production Supervisor
Reports to: Production Manager
Exempt/Non-Exempt Status: Exempt
Job Summary:
The Production Floor supervisor ensures that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflows.
Essential Duties:
- Supervise employees in Production, along with monitoring and recording the operation of the machinery/equipment and production process to attain daily production requirements.
- Train and/or assist in training production personnel to operate the machinery/equipment and understand production methods.
- Adhere to existing corporate policies and procedures in the Production Department.
- Follow all allergen procedures.
- Assist in maintaining accurate documentation related to employee performance, machinery/equipment operation, and production of finished products.
- Ensure audits and preventative maintenance schedules are performed to established procedures. Provide the Production Manager with objective feedback to affect objective evaluations.
- Meet or exceed daily production requirements per product specifications as set by production planning.
- Act as backup in the absence of the Production Managers.
- Train and monitor production staff by giving direction on daily tasks to meet production deadlines.
- Responsible for supporting food safety and quality in the plant.
- Required to follow “Safety policy” and report employee accidents or unsafe work conditions to Production Manager.
- Requires hands-on capability to operate all machinery and equipment within the boundaries of available manuals, instruction, and personal expertise.
- Ensure Production crew is processing food according to HACPP and GMP regulations.
- Pack items in designated containers or bags per customer order.
- Order and plan for daily ingredients needed for recipes of food service items.
- Oversee that crew is safely using equipment as necessary in preparation of food service items by providing training and appropriate PPE.
- Operate all functions of position alone and without assistance if necessary. Fill in for the Production Manager when absent.
- Oversee that production employees are accurately storing, labeling, and dating all incoming food product to ensure maximum shelf life and fixing any discrepancies.
- Ensure all food storage areas are properly secured and locked.
- Provide a clean and orderly work area for employees to ensure safety and ensure proper sanitation guidelines are followed.
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities in a timely fashion as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Able to work in cold a refrigerated environment of 34 -37 degrees.
- High school education or up to 6 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read/write/record data and perform mathematical calculations.
- Ability to direct a diverse group of people with excellent written or oral communication.
- Attendance is critical; employee must be dependable to report to work on time and work a flexible schedule.
- Must have working knowledge and experience in the preparation of food items.
- Ability to work under more than average stressful conditions.
- Ability to perform work in limited physical space with variable ventilation, smoke, and cold temperatures.
- At least 2 years of Production and Processing leadership experience
- Intermediate word and excel skills for correspondence and reporting.
- Excellent organizational skills
Physical Requirements:
This position is in a food production environment in a refrigerated, noisy environment. This is a physical role but may include brief period at a computer during the day.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
