Under the general supervision of the Lead Clinician, the Clinician plays a crucial role in our organization's mental health services. Responsibilities include conducting thorough mental health assessments, delivering individual and group counseling sessions, and providing crisis intervention services as needed. The Clinician will also be responsible for screening individuals for human trafficking concerns, ensuring a comprehensive approach to client care and support.
- Conducts timely needs assessments and develops individualized service plans, including screening for human trafficking concerns.
- Implements crisis management plans and provides ongoing therapeutic support to youth.
- Facilitates comprehensive orientation for unaccompanied children (UCs) on program services, rules, and expectations.
- Provides individual and group therapy, setting measurable goals addressing developmental and crisis-related needs.
- Documents services in case files, participates in audits, and ensures privacy protection when sharing information.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, sociology, or related behavioral sciences with direct clinical experience required.
- Minimum of two years of relevant clinical or case management experience in a child welfare setting.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Licensed in the field of psychology, counseling, or social work in the state of New York, or eligible for licensure.
- Possession of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification, or ability to obtain it.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License preferred.
