Salary Information: Salary commensurate with experience
Temporary/Permanent: Temporary
Other Conditions: For placement in lecturer pool for Fall 2024 and future semesters, including summer courses. Contingent upon registration, position availability, course offerings, departmental need, and funding. Lecturer positions are part-time, non-tenure. Lecturers are required to reside in and teach from Hawaii.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To teach one or more courses within a range of topics that include, depending on the qualifications of lecturers:

NREM 301 – Natural Resources Management

NREM 304 – Fundamentals of Soil Science
-
NREM 310 – Statistics in Agriculture and Human Resources
-
NREM 477 – Geographic Information Systems for Resource Managers
-
NREM 492 – Internship Experience
Responsible for conducting all scheduled classes; meeting course requirements as established by the department/program, preparing course syllabus, grading, maintaining weekly office hours and being accessible to students.
Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Soil Science, Agriculture, Geography, or a closely-related discipline from an accredited university

Generic and basic understanding of natural science aspects of natural resource management (e.g., soils, fresh water resources, forestry, wildlife, etc)
Desirable Qualifications:

PhD degree in Natural Resource Management or related fields

Prior teaching experience at the college level

Familiarity with soil science
-
Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS)

Familiarity with introductory statistics
