ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Splice fiber optic cables per industry standard. Construct a proper splice case, including but not limited to grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage and sealing.
· Perform routine maintenance. Recognize and repair route issues including clean-up of area.
· Support project timelines, inspections, and provide splice documentation/ field notes as needed.
· Communicate with Fiber Design Team about any issues due to field environment/ discrepancies.
· Ability to update documentation into Fiber software.
· Maintain safe work habits and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
· Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. CDL preferred.
· Ability to be part of the on-call rotation for emergencies.
· Other duties as assigned.
Must have at least 1 year experience in fiber splicing. Strong computer skills with knowledge of some systems is preferred (AutoCAD, 3GIS, etc) Must be able to read and understand fiber design, prints, and maps. Experience working safely with boom/ bucket truck, ladder, fiber trailer, etc.
