Position Summary: Greentech, a private equity backed air purification company, is seeking a Controller to join its team. The Controller is responsible for planning and directing the Accounting Department of the Company and its resources, using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). PLEASE NOTE: This is an ON-SITE position located in Johnson City, Tennessee, this is NOT a REMOTE position.
Responsibilities include:
- The person in this position reports directly to the CEO.
- Manage requests from external sources including investment sponsor and bank related parties.
- Oversees all operations of the Accounting Department.
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over all of the accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Oversees the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
- Track Key Performance Indicators to highlight company performance.
- This position is responsible for managing treasury functions including cash forecasting.
- Produces the annual budget and forecasts and ensures significant budget differences are reported to management in a timely manner.
- Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Responsible for managing the external audit process.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Provides detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
- Requires regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills & abilities): To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Education And/Or Experience: Bachelors degree in Accounting required with a minimum of ten years of progressive experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Private, Public, or Big 4 experience).
- MBA/CPA Preferred, but not required.
- Experience using computer programs such as Microsoft Office, with advanced experience using Excel; experience with Oracle NetSuite is a plus.
- Relevant experience in accounting with understanding of GAAP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership skills.
- Exceptional time management, follow-up, analytical and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail.
- Proven supervisory experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as computer instructions, etc. Proficiency in English language is required to effectively communicate with people at all levels.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Other Qualifications: Willingness to perform any required task within the employee’s capabilities to effectively meet the needs of the company. Ability to get along well with others.
