Job Summary:
The primary role of the Marketing Assistant will be to function as administrative support to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications. You will collaborate with our marketing and advertising teams in each stage of marketing campaigns. Your work will include developing, growing, and expanding our marketing channels through social media outreach, blogging, and strategic planning.
Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):
- Supporting the marketing team in daily administrative tasks
- Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail and web)
- Develop copy and creative for blogs, social media posts and e-newsletters (Customer Focused & Internal Employee Communication)
- Communicate with distributor and manufacturer partners about new products and services available to our employees and customers
- Help organize marketing events focused on product education for core customers and employees
- Coordinate in-store/ showroom merchandising initiatives
- Acquisition and distribution of promotional materials (hats, t-shirts, pens, pencils)
- Negotiate pricing and services to maximize marketing budget
- Develop marketing strategies for Kuiken Brothers exclusive brands and services, including Kitchen & Bath, KB Moulding Collection, Commercial Building Materials, Millwork Showrooms, On-Line Account Management Tools
- Collect quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns
- Perform market analysis and research on competition
- Help distribute marketing materials
- Manage and update company database and customer relationship management systems (CRM)
Technical Competencies:
- Ability to read, write and speak in English
- Experience with WordPress Website preferred, but not required
- Advanced writing and presentation skills
- Strong Photography & Videography Skills with basic editing capabilities
- Strong computer skills including experience with MS Office

Qualifications:
- Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
- Solid understanding of different marketing techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications (e.g. CRM tools, Online analytics)
- Passion for the marketing industry and its best practices
- BA required with a focus on Marketing/ Communications preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and currently maintain a safe driving record as required by the company’s insurance provider
