Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Senior Technical Advisor position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
This position demands extensive expertise in space and ground systems acquisition, encompassing research, development, production, and lifecycle management to deliver comprehensive, responsive integrated program management for space-related activities. The Senior Technical Advisor handles managing and controlling the program, serving as the primary liaison with the Contracting Office (CO), Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), and technical leads to ensure exceptional performance. The top candidate will build and supervise a cohesive team as their Program Manager and offer strategic guidance, leadership, and direction to contractor personnel, fostering a collaborative environment, overseeing operations and ensuring adherence to processes and policies.
Skills / Experience Required
- 10-15 years DoD space and/or intelligence operations experience
- 10 years Project Management experience
- Problem identification and resolution, skillful information analysis, and development of alternative solutions
- Provide recommendations to senior leadership to help ensure mission success
- Knowledge of Space Operations training and evaluations standards
- Assess current or future customer needs and priorities through communicating directly with customers, conducting surveys, or other methods
- Adhere to strict security constraints meeting customer requirements
- Review and develop an implementation plan that include technical analysis meeting mission objectives
- Provide planning and strategic thinking across space enterprise portfolio
- Maintain organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for mission requirements
- Recommend technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes while identifying problems, evaluating trends and anticipating requirements throughout the process
- Maintain quality service by setting up and enforcing organization standards
- Travel to support customer office-calls, program management teams to industry and/or government locations and organizations
- Ensure contractor compliance with DoD security programs, including staff security training
- Responsible to oversee contract performance and manage assigned contractors
- Prepare contract performance, progress, workforce and cost reports
- Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals
Education / Certifications
- Master’s degree, preferably with a technical focus, or equivalent relevant job experience
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly desired

Security Clearance
Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
