The Office of Family Assistance
This position is located in the Office of Family Assistance (OFA). OFA oversees cash and food assistance programs, work support programs for recipients of cash and food assistance, and refugee programs. Learn more about the office by visiting the Office of Family Assistance webpage.
What You’ll Do
In this position, you will be responsible for the Salesforce Refugee Services web tool and all Federal reporting for the Refugee Services Program utilizing Ohio Benefits Business Intelligence. Primary responsibilities include:
- Onboarding new web tool users and providing training and technical assistance
- Working with the Office of Information Services (OIS) Salesforce team on enhancements and issues for the web tool
- Pulling web tool reports to ensure data entered by users is accurate
- Providing technical assistance to County Department of Job and Family Services (CDJFS) to ensure program compliance with use of Ohio Benefits
- Responding to Ohio Benefits Self Service and Ohio Benefits Provider Portal and inquiries regarding system user-related issues relative to development and/or implementation
- Researching and analyzing data from CDJFS regarding Ohio Benefits system problems
- Pulling and submitting data for all required federal reports from Ohio Benefits Business Intelligence (BI) and SQL Server Reporting (SSR)
- Collaborating with OIS on enhancements or issues for the BI reports
- Maintaining Refugee Section content on The Beacon website
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Telework Policy
This position (PN: 20101771), upon approval, may work remotely and require occasional in-person meetings for training or other operational needs. Successful candidates are required to:
- Have and maintain internet at their remote location during normal working hours. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at an ODJFS location.
- Reside within a reasonable distance to their assigned work office location to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
- Sign a teleworking agreement upon their first day. (Schedules are subject to change based on the agency’s operational needs and telework status). Telework is considered a privilege and agreements are reviewed annually. Employee or position telework eligible status can change or be revoked at any time, for any reason without notice.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:
- Completion of undergraduate core coursework or 2 years exp. in social or behavioral science, pre-medicine, business administration, public administration, human services as defined in series purpose, or comparable field (note: this required education and/or experience shall not be applied to satisfy the following),
AND In addition, must meet the following:
- For Ohio Benefits System positions, requires 24 mos. recent exp. (i.e., within past 5 years) in delivery of human services that included explaining & applying public assistance laws, policies & procedures mandated by Ohio Department of Job & Family Services & using Ohio Benefits and 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operating personal computer & using Microsoft Office system software, that is Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, or like software package.
Technical & Professional Skills Utilized: Experience with Ohio Benefits, Windows applications and Federal/State policy; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; thorough, detail-oriented, and well organized; strong communication skills with diverse groups of people; ability to handle competing priorities.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohio’s SEIU/1199 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 13. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $31.86 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
