Position Summary:
Responsible for supporting Product Managers (PMs) in the development, implementation, and oversight of business plans for their Supplier product portfolio. With guidance from the Director of Product Management, the APM will assist PMs in their daily activities to help maximize the effectiveness of their supplier strategies. Duties will include report development and data delivery to PMs that aids in driving results; providing administrative support in managing products, pricing, and promotional/marketing initiatives; and preparing material for internal and external presentations. Data gathering, report creation and delivery will either be for specific projects or questions, or for typical repetitive management processes.
The overall objective for the APM role is to support PM’s by taking on as much of their administrative tasks as possible, while also gathering the data and generating reporting that enables PM’s to make informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in development of Product Line/Supplier Plans
- Help PMs by monitoring overall results and performance against plan goals, contributing to corrective action as necessary. This monitoring will include:
- Overall profitability
- GM$ and GM% Growth
- GMROI
- Slow-moving inventory
- Assist in coordinating sales training and measuring its effectiveness.
- Track significant Customer and Supplier deals and aid in the closing process.
- Monitor market trends and Power & Tel’s direction, contributing to analysis of performance compared to competitors.
- Provide support material and data to PMs that enable them to best negotiate on the behalf of Power & Tel
- Support the coordination of quarterly business reviews with key vendors and Power &Tel management.
- Enhance relationship development efforts:
- Suppliers: Assist in establishing and maintaining contact with key Suppliers staff.
- Sales: Collaborate with sales teams, providing support to Sales Managers, District Sales Managers (DSMs), and Account Managers (AMs) to implement and monitor plans.
- Marketing: Help the Marketing team in coordinating activities, including program literature, collateral material, and market research.
- Operations: Assist in coordinating with the Purchasing team to monitor inventory levels and support stock rotations/returns.
- Support business growth:
- Assist in developing ways to promote products, always considering higher margins and growth potential.
- With guidance from PM and Supplier, contributes to identifying and launching new products, providing initial forecasts, and ensuring timely launches within planned financial parameters.
- Through data analysis, assist in identifying and eliminating obsolete or underperforming products from the portfolio.
- Research efforts that support PM group’s knowledge and expertise in all product categories, staying informed about technology trends, and evolving consumer behavior and market patterns.

Minimum Education Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Communications is preferred, but not required.
Required Experience:
1-2 years’ experience in sales, procurement, or product management.
