Mayer Bros. Apple Products, Inc. is seeking to fill a Production Planner/Scheduler position. Mayer Bros. is a privately-owned food manufacturer of various beverages including apple cider, spring water, and various juice products.
Responsibilities include:
- The Production Scheduler will perform scheduling functions to support customer sales order requirements and balance production capacity using Just in Time methodology.
- Monitor and release customer orders in scheduling software based on material availability communicated by purchasing team.
- Schedules based on customer orders, inventory availability, and/or requirements to satisfy the production plan and customer orders.
- Schedules production within the ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
- Coordinates with factory supervision, highlights gaps in the production plan & problem solves those gaps with the production team.
- Update schedules and manufacturing orders based on customer order changes including but not limited to cancellation, expedite, changed specifications, or changed dates.
- Monitor schedule accuracy; communicate with customer service and coordinate with department managers to balance workload and resources to meet customer demand.
- Monitor and maintain finished product inventory within the ERP system, including posting production.
- Reconcile Inventory between the ERP system and warehousing tracking database.
- Investigate root cause and develop/implement process improvements within the order to shipment process.
Skills needed:
- Strong people skills including problem solving, resolution and negotiation
- Capable of working confidently and independently
- Analytical thinking.
- Computer knowledge and proficient usage of Microsoft Office/ Excel
- ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central a plus)
- Warehousing software (Matrix a plus)
- Ability to cross train and provide support to other departmental staff
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Planning, Economics, Statistics, or combination of education and relevant manufacturing planning experience
