Production 2nd shift & 3rd shift
Duties and Responsibilities
· Review mixing procedures to insure loading sequence.
· Visually inspect staged materials for correct codes and descriptions before starting weighments.
· Check compound buckets for cleanliness.
· Weigh compound material to exact weights.
· Check scale for accuracy, notify Maintenance of problems.
· Communicate with Rubber Compounder, and Mixer Operator any changes to weighment schedule.
· Follow all plant safety rules and procedures; wear all personal protective equipment as required.
· Practice good housekeeping techniques, keep area clean, maintain proper care of tools and equipment.
· Participate in training new employees when requested by Line Leader.
· Identify the first and last batch of each run to the Mixer Operator.
· Assist in any special projects requested by management.
Mill - 2nd Shift
Purpose
To drop all batches through mill quickly, check dispersion, and relate batch to specifications and schedule. Remove batches from the mill in a final form as specified by the customer. Package and weigh material according to the customer specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Review milling procedures on specifications sheets for number of drops through mill.
· Visually check mixing consistency of each batch. Report inconsistencies to Crew Leader and Mixer Operator.
· Keep mill pan clean between batches.
· Communicate with lab.
· Sample each batch and identify samples as specified.
· Check customer specifications for thickness, width, and type of release agent.
· Compare weight of package to specification weight sheet; notify Line Leader of any discrepancies.
· Package finished batches as specified on specification sheet.
· Communicate changes in schedule to other mill operators.
· Make certain that all packaging material is free from contaminants. Discard any contaminated or damaged material.
· Keep work areas clean.
· Keep equipment in good operating condition, report problems to Maintenance Department.
· Follow plant safety rules, and mill safety procedures, know location of safety equipment. Wear personal protective equipment as required.
· Train new employees as directed by Crew Leader.
· Assist with any special projects requested by management.
