Role Purpose
Collaborate with the Training & Development Team to create effective learning opportunities for technicians. Deliver on trainings by providing on-the-job support. Create, optimize, and sustain all elements of the training program.
Leadership
This position does not directly lead others but requires the Automotive Technical Trainer to lead Technicians and other employees through their technical skills development.
Core Accountabilities
Assess technicians for technical skill level.
Prepare an individual training plan for each technician and provide one-on-one training support.
Prepare proper training materials to maximize training opportunities, including correlating manufacturer training with in-house training as applicable.
Assess and track the progress of trainees and modify training plans accordingly.
Work with Service Manager, Service Advisors, and Dispatch to help coordinate technician training in the department.
Communicate regularly with the Training & Development Coordinator regarding technician progress, wins, and roadblocks.
Cultivate an environment for open communication, approachability, trust, and support between the trainer and the trainee.
Participate in company-sponsored marketing to highlight and promote the training program.
Competencies & Qualifications
ASE Master Certification Required, L1 Preferred
Minimum 5 Years Post-Secondary Education Experience
Minimum 5 Years Professional Automotive Experience
Automotive Manufacturer Training Preferred
Training or Education Experience Preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
