Senior Living Community Maintenance Director:
Basic Function Provides direct leadership to maintenance and housekeeping team. Provides hands on work daily to maintain facility, grounds and building in a safe and good working condition using proper policies and procedures. Provides hands on daily work to keep facility in its entirety including, apartments, all common spaces, and grounds clean and sanitary.
Supervision Received Receives supervision from the Executive Director and contracted Plant Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
- Healthcare Maintenance/Plant Operations Management experience preferred
- No convictions for abuse, neglect or mistreatment or for misappropriation of property.
- High School graduate or the equivalent.
- Prompt and regular attendance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Ability to read, write and make simple calculations and follow oral and written directions.
- Knowledge of principles and requirements of sanitation and safety in handling maintenance and environmental services tasks and equipment.
- Ability to provide hands on work in maintenance and housekeeping daily.
- Ability to manage, direct, and educate maintenance, housekeeping and laundry team members daily.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulders, crouch, kneel, balance, push, pull, and lift heavy items up to 75-100lbs at times.
- Requires working on unprotected heights. Requires being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, driving automotive equipment, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gas.
- Ability to work long hours and be called in at any time due to emergencies. Working Conditions • Works in well lighted but hot, humid and noisy area.
- Subject to interruptions.
- Subject to involvement with personnel, visitors, state personnel and residents.
- Occasionally subject to hostile, emotionally upset residents.
- Frequent exposure to chemicals.
- Provided with necessary protective equipment and devices.
- Frequent change between hot and cold work areas.
