**Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP), desiring a change of pace. You will have the opportunity to help lead our practice into the next phase of growth. This is not a traditional NP role, rather a unique opportunity to broaden your experience and think outside of routine, traditional treatment modalities. As an integral part of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring quality patient care for those undergoing interventional psychiatric treatments. You will work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to develop and/or implement individualized treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and provide ongoing support.
Treatment Administration and Monitoring:
- Manage the administration of esketamine according to protocols, including:
- Monitoring vital signs and potential side effects during and after treatment
- Educating patients on potential side effects and safety precautions
- Provide clinical oversight to Interventional Psychiatric Technicians involved in patient monitoring for both TMS and Esketamine.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients undergoing esketamine or TMS therapy, in collaboration with psychiatrists. This may include:
- Collaborating with other healthcare providers involved in the patient's care
- Conduct regular follow-up appointments to monitor patient progress, response to treatment, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Document all assessments, treatment interventions, patient responses, and progress notes meticulously in the EMR system.
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment, collaborating with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and other mental health professionals.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold ethical standards of patient care.
Education and Support:
- Educate patients about their specific mental health condition, the rationale for interventional therapies, and potential benefits and risks.
- Provide ongoing support and counseling, including psychoeducation and coping skills training, to empower patients to manage their condition effectively.
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to ensure they understand the treatment plan and can provide appropriate support.
Quality Improvement and Research:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure optimal patient care and safety protocols for interventional treatments.
- Stay current on the latest research and advancements in interventional psychiatry through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Active licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of Ohio.
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) with a focus in Family Practice or Psychiatry.
- Minimum two years of experience in a mental health setting.
- Experience with interventional psychiatric treatments, such as esketamine or TMS, is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
