Technical Bread Baker
Wholesale Bakery seeking a dedicated and experienced Technical Bread Baker to join our team. The Technical Baker will oversee the entire baking process, from planning and coordinating production schedules to ensuring quality control and managing the baking team. This role involves a combination of hands-on baking, leadership, and administrative responsibilities to ensure the efficient operation of our bakery. **Technical baking skills required. **
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet daily targets.
- Monitor inventory levels and inform the adequate team to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure production processes are efficient and cost-effective, optimizing workflow and minimizing waste.
- Conduct regular quality checks on products to ensure high standards of quality for all bakery products, consistency and adherence to recipes and specifications.
- Implement and monitor food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Lead, train, supervise and conduct performance evaluations of production staff.
- Schedule shifts and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development.
- Develop and refine recipes creating new products and improve existing ones.
- Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients as appropriate – experimenting with new flavors, textures, and presentations to enhance the bakery’s offerings.
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of baking equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any production issues or equipment malfunctions.
- Assist with special orders and custom baking requests.
- Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and staff attendance.
Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in baking and pastry arts, culinary arts, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in baking, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a management role.
- Proficiency in recipe development and baking techniques.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Attention to detail and a passion for quality.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Schedule flexibility required - weekends, evening shifts, and holidays as needed.
- Physical demands, including standing for long periods and ability to lift 50 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
