About Scale Construction: Scale Construction is a successful Construction Management and Engineering Consulting company that has been operating successfully for 34 years.
We are currently working on a major infrastructure project that involves integrating the Illinois Tollway expansion with one of the world's busiest airports and major rail lines around O'Hare International Airport.
Position Overview: Scale Construction is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of experienced Construction Inspector. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing Construction Inspections on the aforementioned major infrastructure project.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years working as a field inspector on infrastructure projects required.
- Certification: Certified in IDOT Documentation of Contracts Quantities preferred.
- Concrete Structure and/or Bridge Inspection Experience preferred.
- Willingness to Learn: Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards acquiring new responsibilities and skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Supervision: Oversee and supervise construction activities on-site.
- Coordination: Daily coordination and management of contractors' work activities.
- Client Coordination: Coordinate construction activities with the client's representatives, including Operations, and ensure smooth communication.
- Contractor Compliance: Enforce contractor responsibilities and ensure adherence to contract documents.
- Quantity Verification: Measure and verify the contractor's quantities in accordance with contract documents.
- Reporting: Prepare daily construction reports to track progress and daily activities.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor quality assurance documentation to ensure compliance with quality regulations.
- Documentation: Complete daily Field Book entries in accordance with documentation requirements, including recording activities, manpower, equipment, and taking progress and issue photos.
- Work Tracking: Track construction activities to generate work reports for field orders or Time and Material (T&M) work.
- Progress Meetings: Actively participate in progress meetings.
- Technical Issue Resolution: Collaborate with the team to assist in resolving technical issues.

Pay: $35.00 - $46.00 per hour
