Job Summary: The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a crucial role in implementing behavior intervention programs for individuals with developmental or behavioral challenges, often under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBT focuses on delivering individualized interventions to promote positive behaviors and skills development.
Responsibilities:
Direct Implementation:
- Implement behavior intervention plans designed by a BCBA to address specific behavioral goals and skill acquisition.
- Provide one-on-one instruction to individuals in various settings, such as homes, schools, clinics, or community settings.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Accurately collect data on target behaviors during intervention sessions.
- Assist in analyzing collected data to assess progress and make necessary adjustments to intervention strategies.
Skill Development:
- Work with clients to teach and reinforce various skills, such as communication, social interaction, self-help, and academic skills.
- Utilize behavior analytic techniques to shape and prompt desired behaviors.
Behavior Reduction:
- Implement strategies to reduce challenging behaviors by focusing on replacement behaviors and using positive behavior support techniques.
- Follow behavior intervention plans to manage and address challenging behaviors appropriately.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and organized session notes, data collection records, and progress reports.
- Assist in preparing reports for supervisory review and communication with stakeholders.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other team members, including BCBAs, therapists, caregivers, and educators, to ensure consistency in interventions and progress monitoring.
Professional Development:
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to maintain RBT certification and stay up-to-date with best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Completion of a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training program and successful completion of the RBT certification exam.
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, families, and team members.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with individuals with developmental or behavioral challenges.
- Ability to follow behavior intervention plans and implement strategies consistently.
- Reliable transportation to travel to different work locations, if required.
- Adherence to ethical guidelines and professional conduct standards.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
