POSITION: Sales Support Team Member
Skills used and Developed:
The primary responsibility of this position is to support our international producing network. In doing so the representative will use a variety of skills that they may possess and will also be taught and improved upon by the existing team at Allan Block. “Typical” duties exist as outlined below, but the majority of the duties will rely on communication skills, project management and training. We provide training to assist in developing the specific skills required to bring value to the company and our customers. Some of the many skills that we will help you develop or enhance upon what you already have are:
- Calling on/developing new contacts and growing business with existing distribution points and contractors throughout North America.
- Act as a representative to provide customer service to the national/international community of engineers, contractors, manufacturers, and homeowners.
- Working with and assisting the sales support team to move specific initiatives forward while also supporting our producing/partnering network in a professional manner.
- Maintenance and future improvements of the 15 websites Allan Block has with focus on allanblock.com
- Public speaking in training and presentation settings with different customer groups including dealers, contractors, and manufacturers.
- Learning specific skills to make you an expert in our industry.
- Participate in special projects as needed. These projects include database management, marketing and business planning, and current program improvements.
- Developing and working with software programs to assist in minimizing repetitive processes and capturing critical data to manage opportunities and growth.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have good communication skills for extensive interface with technical and non-technical customers. The ideal candidate feels the need to meet and exceed goals and is capable of multi-tasking along with good verbal and written communication skills. We are looking for someone with an outgoing personality, the desire for professional growth opportunities and one who can combine technical skills with an energetic disposition to sell solutions. Experience in programming, marketing or communications is recommended with previous experience in Microsoft Visual Studio (vb.net or vb.asp), Microsoft SQL Server (Sequel Server), Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, and Photoshop is recommended as well, but not required.
