General Expectations:
To ensure that a quality product, meeting or exceeding all applicable codes, standards and related requirements is produced and delivered to the customer.
Duties/Responsibilities:
DAPIA / Floor Plan - Approved Document Control
1. Maintain current master copy of all documents in the office including supplier data, supplier audit reports, DAPIA, ECR’s, record of changes, CEF forms, etc.
2. Distribute materials (DAPIA updates, supplier data, product standards, etc) in a meeting environment with full explanation of changes or additions.
3. Review findings and data on a weekly basis to reveal any weak areas in the production process.
4. Follow-up with all paper work distributions to assure changes are understood and being made in accordance with distributed drawings and specifications.
Inspections, Monitoring, and Tracking
1. Perform a systematic documented line inspection, in a 15-day rotation of CCI items, material installation, and observation of testing equipment.
2. Daily inspection of a labeled unit.
3. Follow-up inspections of yard work and re-testing. Provide daily yard report.
4. Ensure that the QA Administration - FTC Database is updated routinely and monitor for repetitive issues or other quality issues.
5. During IPIA inspections, ensure QA Inspector, Area Manager or Team Leader routinely walk with the IPIA while in their respective departments.
6. De-brief C.I. Manager and Production Manager of IPIA findings and ensure they sign the report.
Training
1. Responsible for ensuring weekly DAPIA training with team members (more frequently as necessary in areas identified by repetitive or other quality issues).
2. Ensure QA Administrative database for Training is updated routinely.
3. Assist with training all new team members and department transfers.
4. Training and review of new floor plans, DAPIA designs, Product Standards, supplier data, etc.
5. Responsible for ensuring all testing personnel and their back-ups are certified as required.
6. Provide structured and continuous training and education of the QA Inspector.
Reporting and Accountability
1. Report all quality control and IPIA findings. All IPIA findings are to be answered properly by the QA Manager and Area Manager. Each Area Manager that had a non-conformance found in their area by the IPIA or is a repetitive non-conformance must be documented and answered with the use of a C.E.F. (Compliance Education Form). These forms must be filed and maintained to eliminate repeat issues.
2. Keep the C.I. Manager and Production Manager aware of problem areas and the top three issues.
3. Keep the Home Office aware of repetitive issues, new materials, and any new code interpretations.
4. Maintain any QA information boards as required.
5. Turn in signed CCI document to C.I. Manager weekly.
6. Additional duties and responsibilities may be added as needed.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:
1. Must be able to walk, climb, lift loads of at least 50 lbs, and perform such other physical duties as may be necessary to carry out the specific and general duties described above
2. Must be able to climb ladders, inspect any aspect of the home using normal safety equipment, and inspect roofs in the yard.
3. Must be able to communicate efficiently and clearly with customers, peers and team leaders both verbally (in person / over the phone) and in writing.
4. Ability to comprehend building terms, including architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
Education and Qualifications:
- Min 4 year of QA Management experience required
- 4 years’ proven Management of others required
- 4 years of HUD experience required
- 4 years of DAPIA experience required
