This job is for the Denver Store, 2720 S Wadsworth Blvd, Denver CO 80227
- Store Hours: Monday - Saturday 10am – 5pm, Sundays 11am – 5pm - NO NIGHT SHIFTS!
- We are closed on Easter, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day & New Year’s Day
- May require some time before and after hours for planning, events and one team meeting per month.
As the Assistant Manager, you will report to the franchise owner or store location manager and be responsible for supporting the store owner and store manager in providing a high-energy customer experience.

- Interest in backyard bird feeding (training provided).

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Retail sales experience: 3 years (Required).
- Retail sales leadership / management: 1 year (Required).
Key Responsibilities:
Selling and Customer Experience:
- Prioritize providing a high-energy customer experience
- Complete the OWL module for High Energy Training
- Use successful selling skills to create a memorable shopping experience and delight customers
- Follow the Employee Handbook, including the WBU Ten Touch Points training
- Wear the logo name badge and apparel while working on the sales floor and ensure other team members do the same
Personnel Management:
- Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, and professional demeanor
- Assist with hiring, training, and coaching store associates
- Assist new hires with training and certification completion to become a Certified Bird Feeding Specialist
- Help plan and attend store meetings as needed
- Assist Store Manager with staff scheduling including adequate coverage for sales, events, vacation and personal time off requests.
- Help communicate information necessary to maintain smooth internal store operations.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Merchandising:
- Understand and communicate the store’s merchandise and target products to customers
- Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels
- Order specific merchandise as assigned
- Complete changing displays, signing, and restocking merchandise as directed by management
- Identify opportunities to improve store merchandising
- Assist with the transfer of inventory between multi store owners and managers in order to maximize inventory efficiencies.
Marketing:
- Understand current promotions and events in the Marketing Planner or store marketing calendar
- Assist with displays, signing, and staffing for upcoming promotions and events
- Assist in public relations and community talks
- Identify and recommend promotional and event opportunities to increase store awareness and visibility within the community
Administrative Control:
- Adhere to store policies and procedures regarding transactions, administrative duties, and scheduling
- Assist in opening and closing the store and accurately account for all cash and charge receipts, bank deposits, and daily, weekly and monthly bookkeeping
- Complete accurate and legible paperwork
Loss Prevention:
- Adhere to store policies and procedures regarding personal and store security
- Communicate security concerns to owner/manager
Store Maintenance and Cleanliness:
- Maintain good housekeeping standards to present a clean and well-presented store
- Ensure store personnel adheres to store cleanliness standards

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
