SUMMARY: Job Skills Trainers are certified job coaches, who work directly with individuals with disabilities by using structured intervention techniques to help the job seeker learn tasks and meet the necessary skill sets for a desired career. The Job Skills Trainer will develop relationships with local businesses/potential employers for interns to assist in obtaining employment for interns upon graduation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for obtaining Job Coach Certification and maintaining the credential through continuing education hours.

Responsible for obtaining education hours required by Friendship Community Care and any other regulatory bodies.

Accurately document work hours on timecard and ensure all hours worked outside of the set schedule are approved by supervisor first.

Responsible for the oversight of the job seeker/intern they are assigned to and ensures that their health and safety comes first.

Make hourly rounds to each intern’s assigned location to check on intern and provide job coaching.

Serves as an advocate for all interns.
- May be required to drive own vehicle or company vehicle assist job seeker in getting to and from location.

Create and implement lesson plans using the Project SEARCH Curriculum and other resources as appropriate.
- Serves as an instructor for Project Search in Russellville and operates under the supervision of Project SEARCH Coordinator

Required to keep a professional demeanor as a representative of FCC/Project Search

Carries First Aid supplies for minor injuries and transports employee/client with major injury for appropriate medical attention. Reports any injuries to supervisor.

Completes Task Analysis as needed for clients served.

Participates in the job carving process when looking for employment in the community.

Helps interns find a career of their choice. Includes but not limited to assist with transportation to and from interview or job, serves as a job coach to client working in the community if need (hours may vary according to the client’s job)

Upon Intern graduation, the job skills trainer will provide follow along services including ongoing job search and job coaching as needed.
- Complete monthly reports for follow along services for graduates from the previous internship year and provide those to Project SEARCH coordinator for monthly reporting and invoicing.
Maintains confidentiality of all information received regarding Friendship Community Care, Inc., and the participants. Conditions of confidentiality shall be in compliance with Friendship Community Care Non-Disclosure Policy and HIPAA Policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Code of Conduct and Compliance Investigation Procedures as read and discussed in the new employee training must be followed at all times.

Consumers’ progress notes be maintained and completed daily or as needed on the prescribed forms.

Consumers’ records must be maintained weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly. All information must be filed in consumers’ records as needed and updated as prescribed by funding sources.
