We are hiring a Lead Teacher to join our fantastic Boca Lyons team! We are looking for someone who is passionate, enthusiastic, a natural born leader, and caring.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the children’s academic, emotional and social development and growth. They will be able to plan, coordinate and implement the curriculum, develop meaningful connections with parents, and lead the teaching team in inspiring the next generation.
As a Lead Teacher, your Responsibilities and Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Leading the development of the center’s curriculum.
- Assessing lesson plans and current teaching methods.
- Cultivate a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children.
- Instruct preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth.
- Planning and implementing daily curricula.Supporting, guiding, and reviewing other members of teaching staff.
- Tracking and reporting on children’s academic, social and emotional growth.
- Observe each child daily to assess skills, interests and needs and use this information to facilitate learning and growth.
Requirements:
- Must meet state requirements for education and additional center/school requirements may apply.
- Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans.
- Comply with local, state, and federal laws governing child care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Friendly and approachable demeanour.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic.
Qualifications:
- DCF 45-hour Child care Training Certificate (beneficial, not required)
- Child Development Associate (CDA) or Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (FCCPC) earned within the last 5 years or,
- An Associate’s Degree in higher in an unrelated field, with at least 6 credit hours in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, and at least 480 hours of experience in teaching or providing childcare services for children from birth to 8 years old or,
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Pre Kindergarten or Primary Education, Preschool Education, or Family and Consumer Science; or Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, certified to teach children from birth to 6th grade.
