Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited College or University.

Minimum three (3) years full-time experience directly related to early childhood education and care.

Early Childhood Education and Care Vocational Technical certification from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Summary of Job Description: The Early Childhood Education Instructor is responsible for the academic, social-emotional growth and development of all children in his/her care, which includes preschool age children; develops partnerships with parents/child’s caregivers to engage and encourage parent participation in program. The preschool classroom serves as the laboratory practicum experience for the high school students who are enrolled in the Early Childhood Educational program at Northeast Metro Tech High School. The Early Childhood Education Instructor is responsible for teaching high school students the theories of how young children learn, as well as providing practical experience assisting in the preschool on a daily basis.
Responsibilities:

In collaboration with a co-Early Childhood Education Instructor manage an on-site pre-school program in accordance with the Office of Early Education and Care (OEEC) regulations.

Model appropriate behavior for high school students that are being supervised.

Plan and implement curriculum and activities with the assistance of students.

Maintain appropriate records for preschoolers and high school students.

Follow Curriculum Frameworks for Early Childhood Education and Care.

Maintain documentation of competencies for student achievement.

Maintain the preschool classroom and materials/equipment.

Provide and track adequate supplies.
Evaluation: Evaluated in accordance with the DESE Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching Practice and the current Northeast Teachers’ Association Contract.
