The Business Systems & FP&A Advisor will passionately lead high-level project management, placing a strong focus on the further refinement and implementation of our marine management system and our compliance and maintenance system (HELM) for our Gulf division. This pivotal role will champion technological advancements, streamline efficiencies, and enhance overall user-friendliness within the organization. Acting as a dedicated representative for department heads, this role demands a proactive approach to propel projects forward and deeply understand the unique needs of different business units. In the long run, the responsibilities will extend to collaborating across the company to pinpoint business needs, acting as a crucial project management liaison between business and IT departments, and delivering timely forecasts, reporting, analytics, and recommendations to fuel continuous growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in refining and implementing our marine management software (Liquid BargeOps) and compliance/maintenance software for the Gulf division, working closely with other teams to prioritize tasks.
- Drive advancements in technology, operational efficiency, and user-friendly processes.
- Serve as the main point of contact for department heads to manage projects and ensure they align with our business objectives.
- Understand and address the needs of different business units to facilitate effective project management.
- Handle project management, IT coordination, and business analysis to support our current and future projects.
- Identify and analyze business requirements, gather input, and define project scope and goals.
- Make recommendations for process improvements and new technologies to enhance our operations.
- Document business requirements and relationships between different system components.
- Translate business requirements into user stories.
- Act as a thought leader both within and outside the organization.
- Provide accurate forecasts, reports, analytics, and recommendations to drive company growth.
- Collaborate with leaders to analyze key business initiatives and support quicker decision-making.
- Deliver monthly reports on financial and operational performance metrics to senior management.
- Provide detailed explanations and analysis of results, trends, and business drivers.
- Complete any other duties as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Solid experience in project management (PM) of technological projects, using an agile approach.
- Good understanding of business needs and a proactive attitude towards driving projects.
- Ideally knowledge of logistics and marine transportation systems.
- Expertise in modeling, forecasting, and predicting to help make business decisions.
- Capability to achieve KPIs, timelines, and milestones effectively.
- Experience in the energy sector is necessary; experience with marine and logistics operations is preferred.
- Understanding of financial principles, such as budgeting, forecasting, and pricing strategies for profitability and growth.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective information sharing and relationship building.
- Sharp analytical skills to turn data into actionable insights.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with department heads and business units.
- Proven track record in managing complex projects to successful completion.
- Ability to work closely with leaders to support analytical decision-making and model key business initiatives.
