Role Snapshot
The Accounting Clerk V role is responsible for the timely processing of all provider and beneficiary refund checks along with completing the weekly manual payment runs.
In this role you will:
- Complete daily processing of provider and beneficiary refund checks accurately and in accordance with government regulations and WPS/MVH processing requirements.
- Complete the manual check payment runs by updating the WPS/MVH systems and mailing the payments.
- Assist with special projects and cross-training training staff

Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting principles obtained from post high school course work OR work-related accounting experience
- 1 or more years of accounting with demonstrated ability to perform accounting functions
- Knowledge of or ability to learn MVH TRICARE program processing requirements and government regulations
- Demonstrated ability to research processed claims, receipts, and receivables on WPS/MVH system
Preferred Qualifications
- Post high school accounting coursework
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Additional Information
- This will be a hybrid role. The role consists mainly of two pieces of work – Processing refund checks, which can be done remotely, and processing manual checks – part of this task can be done remotely, and the other part will require the candidate to be in office every other week for 1-2 days a week. The in-office portion of the work is on a rotation schedule and could be more frequent if this member is backing up someone who is on vacation or out of office.
- Start Date: August 5th, 2024
- Starting Base Salary: $17.20/hour
- Training Location/Schedule:
- Training: Peer to peer training will be 7am-3pm for the first 2 weeks. Training will be remote, except for the check run training which will be in the office.
- Scheduled Shift following Training:
- Hybrid: 8-hours shifts Monday-Friday between 7am-7pm (local time zone). Latest start is 9am unless given an exception by your supervisor
- Work Location: Hybrid work available. Once training is complete (training includes one week of required onsite training at our Madison campus) this role requires to be in-office for check runs 2-3 times per month. Please note that the assigned office for this position is in Madison, WI and remote employees may be required to work at this location 1-2 days in the week when scheduled to be in the office at times.
- All Onsite training will take place at the WPS Corporate Center Building (1717 W. Broadway) in Madison, WI
