The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at Hofstra University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor and Director of Clinical Education in the new Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Reporting to the Director of the Physical Therapy Program, the Director of Clinical Education is responsible for the planning, coordination, administration, and monitoring of the clinical component of the physical therapy program. The anticipated start date for this position is Summer 2024.

The Director of Clinical Education will join the faculty team at an exciting time as we welcome our inaugural class of DPT students. The DPT program recently moved to newly renovated spaces, including new faculty offices, a custom-designed research lab, and state-of-the-art instructional spaces. Spaces support diverse teaching and scholarship agendas through a variety of cutting-edge resources and equipment, including an eight-camera VICON motion analysis system, Bertec force plates, a GAITRite instrumented walkway, CORTECH brain flow measurement system, and Virtualis’ virtual reality system.
The DPT program is housed within the Hofstra University School of Health Professions and Human Services and has a strong presence in the education of varied health professionals in the Long Island region (see Hofstra University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program for more details).
Responsibilities:
- Develop, administer, and direct the clinical education component of the DPT curriculum.
- Set standards of performance for classroom and clinical instruction.
- Develop, implement, review and analyze program evaluation and outcome mechanisms relating to clinical instruction and readiness.
- Develop strong clinical partnerships by enlisting clinical education sites across a variety of patient populations and practice settings.
- Ensure that the clinical education component of the curriculum maintains compliance with CAPTE, federal/state regulations, institutional policies, and placement site policies.
