Job Summary
Supports the operations of the distribution center and reports to the Ops Manager. Responsible for all the tasks that make sure received packages are unloaded and loaded from shipping containers. Ensure products get shipped to the proper destinations. Manage ingoing and outgoing flows of product, organize the distribution center or storage depot. Oversees and leads the Shipping team, communicates with other leads to manage workflow, and works with the operation manager to ensure product is shipped correctly.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise 3-Person Shipping Team
- Communicates with other leads (receiving and storage) to manage labor against workload.
- Operates industrial vehicles and equipment.
- Utilizes a Net Suite hand scanner for product movement.
- Transfers goods to designated area for outbounds.
- Load and unload designated trailers with a forklift.
- Accurately pick and stage loads
- Ensures compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
- Move product and/or materials manually as required.
- Manually cleaning, sorting, or arranging product
- Receiving and processing warehouse stock products
- Performing inventory controls by properly marking product
- Driving a forklift or operating a pallet jack for staging of products; all warehousemen will receive forklift certification.
- Maintaining a sanitary workplace
- Adaptable, has the ability to approach obstacles with persistence and a positive attitude.
- Teaming to ensure cross-functional training and efficient operations. Uses Systems Thinking and displays an understanding of how one’s own work affects other functions or groups.
- QC responsibilities across the warehouse, specifically outbound loads
- Works with operations manager to investigate any discrepancies with shipments.
- Direct Reports (2)– Shipping Associate 1 and 2
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
· High School diploma or Equivalent.
· At least two years of experience in warehousing
· Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills.
· Experienced operating a Forklift.
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
· Requires excellent interpersonal skills between both managers and fellow employees.
· Comprehensive problem-solving skills
· Ability to meet deadlines and productivity goals.
Work Environment: Warehouse Environment – working with and around a variety of equipment, parts, and inventory
Physical Demands:
· Must possess mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting
· Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work
· Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 20 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment.
