Under the supervision of a Behavior Analyst, the Behavior Technician will implement skill acquisition protocols and behavior reduction programs based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis for children and young adults with Autism and/or developmental disabilities. Services take place in the home, clinical, community, and school settings. Individuals should be engaging, energetic, creative, enthusiastic, outgoing, dependable, organized, team-oriented and excel in communicating effectively with others.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide direct facilitation of ABA strategies in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training. Ability to effectively apply ABA strategies and interventions is a must
- Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
- Follow and record data as prescribed by the BCBA
- Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior
- Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client’s treatment protocol
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment
- Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents, other caregivers, school teams and other providers.
- Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required training and completing continuing education
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 1 year of experience working with children and/or young adults in 1:1 settings or in a classroom/group setting, implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
