Multidimensional wellness practice looking for an experienced, full-time Front Desk Associate. Offering very competitive compensation and incentives as well as a full benefits package. The Front Desk Associate must have strong experience with medical front desk and customer service. The Front Desk Associate is the first point of contact for the practice and creates the first impression for people calling or entering our office. Must possess superior customer service skills and excellent verbal and communication skills to create a welcoming, professional, and courteous atmosphere in the office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains professional conduct and appearance and ensures that waiting and reception areas are clean and presentable at all times.
- Greets patients and efficiently directs the flow of the practice.
- Schedules appointments and procedures.
- Manages a multi-line phone system, provides accurate information and directs calls accordingly.
- Registers new patients, performs appointment check-in, and conducts paperwork review.
- Collects co-pays and any other fees due.
- Executes insurance verifications, obtains authorizations and referrals.
- Performs clinic preparation.
- Receives packages and shipments.
- Maintains employee directory.
- Possesses through knowledge of the practice and service offerings and provides accurate information.
- Coordinates and handles office mail including sorting and distributing, preparing outgoing labels, packages, and scheduling pick-ups and deliveries.
- Provides exemplary customer service to patients, visitors, and co-workers.
- Promotes, supports, and engages in projects and activities which will develop or improve patient care and services.
- Acts with honesty and integrity in all business transactions.
- Possesses effective time management skills and assists other staff members when appropriate.
- Possesses excellent organizational skills.
- Communicates and works well in a team environment.
- Follows up in a timely manner on all open items.
- Effectively prioritizes work on a daily basis.
- Always upholds and adheres to practice core values.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- The candidate must have strong experience with EHR/EMR. Experience with Athenahealth a big plus.
- Intermediate computer skills; keyboarding/typing, WORD, EXCEL
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Prior medical office experience
- Experience with insurance verifications, authorizations and referrals
- Highschool degree or higher required
- Willingness and ability to function well in a team environment, supporting excellent patient care
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong initiative and work ethic
- Bilingual – fluency in English and Spanish
