Overview:
We are seeking a Full Time/ Seasonal Program Site Coordinator to join our team. This is a seasonal position for 14 weeks.

FIND Food Bank is the Desert’s Regional Food Bank, the Feeding America Member food bank that serves the Coachella Valley Desert area of California (commonly known as the Palm Springs, CA area) and is the State of CA’s recognized USDA and primary disaster response food distributor for the region. For over 40 years, FIND has dedicated itself to relieving hunger, the causes of hunger, and the problems associated with hunger through awareness, education, community involvement and mobilizing resources to those in need of food assistance in the eastern Riverside and southern San Bernardino Counties Areas. Our vision is to create a community where people are free of food insecurity by Ending Hunger for Today, Tomorrow and a Lifetime. FIND’s team is committed to the equitable and efficient distribution of healthy food resources, advancing outreach efforts to ensure access to government food assistance and medical programs, rescuing safe and edible foods that would otherwise be wasted in landfills, building community awareness, and leading a community movement of non-profits and organizations committed to ending hunger in our region. Resources are leveraged in a strategic, cost-effective manner to achieve our mission and vision. Since the onset of COVID-19, FIND now feeds almost 120,000 people per month, distributes over 20 million lbs. of food per year, partners with over 100 organizations and runs 46 free Community Mobile Markets to ensure that there are over 140 easily accessible free food locations over a 5,000 sq. mile service area.
SUMMARY of POSITION
Reporting to the Associate Director of Community Impact, the Program Coordinator position will be focused on the success of FIND’s Food Security Programs. The Program Coordinator will support the Associate Director of Community Impact (ADCI) with coordination of FIND’s Food Distribution Programs including, but not limited to the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), KIDS Summer Market (KSM), KIDS Farmers Markets (KFM), College Hunger, Senior Hunger, Community Mobile Markets and FIND’s Homebound Delivery Program.
The following is a general list of job responsibilities that will be reviewed and/or updated at the conclusion of probationary period and annually thereafter.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Programs – Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), KIDS Summer Market (KSC), KIDS Farmers Markets, College Hunger, Senior Hunger and Community Mobile Markets & FIND’s Homebound Delivery Program.
· Supervise the activities of FIND’s Direct Programs and Compliance to ensure all program partners (e.g. – Child and senior hunger initiatives) comply with Feeding America and other relevant sanctioning bodies’ operating guidelines, rules and regulations, specifically in the area of documentation, food safety and Civil Rights.
· Manage all aspects of daily operation of programs, including distribution/delivery of food to program sites, communication with site coordinators and volunteers. Coordination of other program activities at the site and maintenance of appropriate records for program administration
· Identifies and engages with the community partners addressing needs of individuals experiencing food insecurity
· Serves as liaison between FIND Food Bank and program partners and community volunteers
Administer Program Requirements
- Complete required training for programs, Civil Rights Training, Pallet Jack certification, food safety and other trainings required by FIND Food Bank
- Work with the FIND Food Bank Team and Volunteers to serve neighbors in a friendly and courteous manner
- Ensures execution and maintenance of all physical aspects of the distribution sites to ensure safe, effective and efficient distribution
- Enforces program guidelines for participants, team members and volunteers
- Work with FIND’s Operation team to ensure accuracy of maintaining inventory of product allocated to each site
- Maintain and prepare all supplies needed for distribution i.e. canopy’s, coolers, waters, gloves, client registration/intake including computers/tablets, barcode scanners, office supplies, and forms in all languages needed
- Ensures all materials are complete and available for program audits
- Identifies needs and opportunities for improvement, developing and working with Associate Director of Community Impact, Partner Sites, and Volunteer Programs to implement plans
· Maintains familiarity with food bank strategic plan, policies, and procedures and translates the same into effective strategies to meet food bank goals and objectives
· Maintains program site safety at all times
· Maintains working knowledge of best practices in charitable food distribution and proactively shares the same with team members and program partners
· Make referrals to other Food Bank departments, including SNAP, Volunteers, Food Operations, Development etc., as necessary.
· Oversees the homebound delivery program and support with deliveries as necessary
· Ensures that any resource provider onsite has been preapproved by Associate Director of Community Impact
· Conducts all functions in a professional manner calculated to maintain FIND’S standing in the community.

SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Able to speak, read, and write fluent English and Spanish
- Communication skills, oral and written, that demonstrate clear, concise messages with accurate spelling, punctuation, and grammar in written and electronic formats
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills: public speaking experience required
- Ability to solve problems, analyze data, make good decisions, attend to details and manage projects
- Adaptable to a quickly changing business environment including learning and applying training and knowledge, including learning new programs
- Highly organized and able to multitask and understand priorities
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability and means to travel extensively to various sites and meet with clients throughout work week
· This position may supervise student interns and volunteers.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Experience in a food bank and/or other nonprofit setting preferred
· High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred or a combination of appropriate educational background and professional work experience for this position
· Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
· Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
· Proven leadership skills
· Ability and desire to relate to and work with various age, socio-economic, gender, racial and ethnic groups
· Ability to learn and enforce Feeding America, local, state and federal laws and regulations relating to Food Safety and food handling
- Must possess valid CA driver’s license and be insurable under the company commercial auto policy. Must be able to travel locally and, on occasion, statewide to attend FANO and other Conferences/trainings. Travel is also required to monitor operations of member programs. (mileage reimbursed by FIND for business use)
- Must be available for evening and weekend work.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is value, goal and deadline oriented; extensive phone and external contact; periodic extended hours/week day early and weekends on occasions; in and out of the office environment; extensive driving, bending, lifting and carrying items weighing in excess of 60 pounds; computer usage.
