North Coast Container - Charlotte is currently looking for a Purchasing Manager for our Charlotte location. It is critical that this person be on site, so working remotely is not an option. The right candidate applies best in class purchasing practices to direct and indirect materials/services. You will partner with the Charlotte group and suppliers to ensure products meet quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the best value. Due to several acquisitions, the company is growing, and this is an extremely visible opportunity to show your leadership and supply chain skills. You will be empowered to improve processes and own supplier relationships.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage strategic and tactical purchasing for direct and indirect materials and services.
· Assist Supply Chain leadership in writing contracts and negotiations of steel supply.
· Calculate and own optimized inventory levels to ensure the plant has what it needs.
· Partner with key personnel both internally and externally to minimize impact of quality issues or discrepancies and drive real root cause and corrective action.
· Take a leadership role in managing supply chain functions in Epicor (ERP) and other software.
· Work with colleagues from other facilities on best practices.
· Manage, own and update supply chain metrics for Charlotte and drive appropriate proactive resolutions on pending issues.
· Coordinate/Conduct cycle counts and yearly inventory.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
· Business Degree or similar.
· 3-5 years buying experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Advanced computer skills, especially Excel with the ability to analyze large data files.
· Good understanding of how to use and interpret data from ERP and other supply chain systems.
· Supply Chain certification or willingness to get certified.
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
· Extremely detail oriented.
· The desire to lead the function and collaborate with plant and supply chain teams.
· Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.

· BI experience

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
