Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant to develop our physician extender program. An ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who is excited about developing long term relationships with patients as well as working in a family oriented private practice.
Responsibilities:
- See patients from the newborn to college age for both well visits and sick visits.
- Develop treatment plans for pediatric patients
- Prescribe medication and treatments as appropriate.
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance and preventative medicine
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses and care managers to ensure up to date comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
Skills: Candidate should possess the following skills and knowledge
- Feel comfortable performing physical examinations of children
- Be able to diagnose and treat common childhood infectious diseases.
- Understanding of common childhood and adolescent injuries
- Understanding of the normal development of infants and young children
- Be able to counsel families with evidence based advice for raising children
- Familiarity with Bright Futures recommendations
- Have a basic understanding of E&M coding
- Be able to work as a team member and collaborate productively with physicians, nurses, social workers, MAs and other office staff.
