**Overview:**
Watson and William Farm in Sparks, Maryland, offers farm-raised beef and premium tallow goods. We take pride in our humane animal husbandry practices and aim to provide our community with all-natural, ethically raised beef. We seek someone to sell our products at a reputable farmers' market in Baltimore and share our family farm story.
This part-time position involves working a one-week farmer's market shift on Sundays at the Baltimore Farmers Market in downtown Baltimore. Farmers markets allow us to engage with our customers meaningfully. Now in its 47th season, the Baltimore Farmers Market opens Sunday, April 7th, and runs every Sunday until December 15th, 2024. Sun, rain, snow, and all-weather in between the market and its vendors and patrons persist. We love being active participants in the community this way! It's important to note that our farm is located in Sparks, Maryland, and you would need to start here in the mornings to gather the coolers and market supplies before heading to the market from the farm. After the market ends, you'll need to pack up and return to the farm.
Farmers' market experience is a plus but optional—we will train you! A good attitude, desire to learn, reliability, self-motivation (you are working alone), and a good communication skill set are paramount. This opportunity is a great part-time job for someone looking to get out in the world, enjoy being outdoors with people, and use their muscles. Or someone passionate about farm-raised beef and local goods who aspires to learn more about agriculture and local food production.
