**Summary:**
The Distribution Center Lead provides leadership in the absence of supervision that fosters teamwork while coordinating activities of daily operations and distribution efficiency.This working lead position is able to perform all the functions of a Distribution Operator and may fill in for the Distribution Shift Supervisor/Manager as needed.
**Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Coordinates and oversees day-to-day activities or work assignments as communicated by management or other established methods. Responsibilities may include: problem solving; training employees; assigning, directing and checking work; addressing minor complaints and communicating information to management.
- Meets shipping goals and performance standards (PERFECT ORDER.)
- Opens and closes the Distribution Center on an as-needed basis.
- Accurately prepares, inputs, and processes various reports, paperwork or other administrative duties in a timely manner.
- Has thorough knowledge of TMM in relation to the Distribution Center requirements plus proficient with MS Office.
- Maintains and improves procedures for proper inventory control and first-in-first-out (FIFO) of the perpetual and warehouse locator file. This includes the performance of cycle counts and assists in taking periodic physical inventories.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED); three to five years of related experience or training in a related field or distribution environment.
**Skills and Competencies:**
- Communication: Must be able to take directions, understand instructions, and follow SOP"s (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Logical reasoning: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Technical: Bar code experience preferred. Current and approved forklift license required.
- Technological: Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, E-Mail, small package shipping systems.
Physical Demands:
- May be required to stand for long periods of time.
- May involve some repetitive motions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers.
- Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity, and cold.
