Summary
The Store Manager possesses a strong passion for the customer and is accountable for driving sales through executing on Finish Line’s omni-vision. The Store Manager provides leadership through communication, motivation, inspiration and development to drive operational excellence and strong team performance. The Store Manager is accountable to District Sales Manager and company leadership to provide local insights in regards to sales, shrink, market conditions, social media, product, etc. He/she thrives on building strong relationships with business partners, in order to achieve success, and is responsible for driving new ways to achieve sales. Main duties include:
- Create and execute 30/60/90 day plan to drive sales results.
- Leads team to deliver a customer focused culture.
- Seeks to understand the customer’s needs and wants to benefit the overall customer experience.
- Actively participates in engaging, assessing, hiring and onboarding talent who align with Finish Line’s culture, to create robust talent pipeline.
- Provide training and development to staff, to include; company sponsored training programs, learning management system content, individual development plans. Provide constructive feedback to ensure the growth and collaboration of team members.
- Actively engage and participate in social media channels and stay abreast of the sneaker industry.
- Embraces accountability and sets attainable goals for store sales, metrics, and operational excellence.
- Demonstrates salesmanship skills by maintaining sales and accessory levels, as per established profit goals.
- Monitors operations to ensure that standards are met and maintained regarding customer service, merchandise presentations, store cleanliness, shrinkage, and operating cost controls.
- Monitors deliveries to, and product movement within the Store to ensure effective inventory and merchandise management.
- Ensures the fiscal integrity of the Store by accounting for all cash, merchandise and other Store assets.
- Accountable for key decision making to influence change, sales, customer service.
- Adhere and uphold all company policies and procedures.
- Additional duties and projects as required.
Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or 1 – 2 year related experience and/or training. Must possess high integrity, honesty and ethics.
Required Computer and/or Technical Skills
Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Requires standing approximately 5 – 8 hours per day usually 3 – 5 days per week, including nights and weekends.
- During peak sale periods (e.g. Holiday, Back-to-School), will work for long periods throughout a 1 – 12 hour day.
- Requires stooping and kneeling to place merchandise on customer’s feet as well as reaching and pulling to obtain or stock merchandise on storage racks.
- May be required to climb ladder or ascend/descend stairs in order to stock and/or acquire merchandise for sale.
- Required to lift items weighing 5 – 25 lbs regularly. In certain circumstances, weights may be higher.
- Must speak English clearly in order to converse with customers and effectively supervise staff.
- Must be able to read and write English and perform business-related mathematics in order to carry out normal business and understand corporate sales reports.
- Must have good vision, including color differentiation.
- Required to work an average of 44 hours per week.
- Punctuality and regular attendance consistent with the company’s policies are required for the position.
- The work environment for this position is a moderately noisy retail setting.
