SUMMARY:
he Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences provides didactic instruction in the area of pharmaceutics and associated disciplines to Doctoral Pharmacy students. In addition to academic responsibilities, this faculty member is expected to assist in the professional and spiritual growth of pharmacy students. Part of the academic responsibility is to engage in research and scholarly activity, to participate as an active member of assigned school or university committees, and to serve as faculty advisor to a group of pharmacy students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides didactic instruction within assigned courses.

Integrates faith and professional values into instructional activities where applicable.

Serves as an advisor to Pharm.D. students as assigned.

Conducts research and/or scholarly activity associated with the pharmaceutical sciences that is either published or presented following peer review.

Participates actively in professional organizations associated with his/her discipline.

Serves as a role model of professional, servant leader behavior to students.

Serves on task forces and committees as assigned.

Participates in other duties as assigned in service to the school or university.

Assists with faculty recruitment and student applicant interviews.

Attends faculty meetings, faculty development programs and other school functions as assigned.

Ph.D. in a specific discipline within the Pharmaceutical Sciences. Area of focus in pharmaceutics. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to engage in research and/or scholarly activity.

The Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with students, faculty, administrators, patients, and other health professionals.

Must be adept at organizing complex scientific and professional subject matter and designing instructional strategies that make the material easier to understand and apply.

Skill in using computer software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required, as is the ability to use electronic and internet educational and professional resources.

Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences, in a specific discipline such as pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, or physiology is essential, along with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to function effectively and collaboratively as part of an educational and research team.
