Los Angeles/Rio Hondo America's Job Center of California (AJCC) at SASSFA is a local government-special district public agency in the City of Santa Fe Springs recruiting for a Career Planners for its Workforce Innovation and Opportunity (WIOA) programs.

Under general supervision of a Program Supervisor, the Career Planner provide support and career guidance services for adult and/or youth clients, including diagnostic testing and other comprehensive assessments, information on occupations with clear career paths in high-growth industry sections, development of an individual employment plan, information on eligible training providers and specialized training. Comprehensive AJCC and AJCC partner system navigation, and conduct workshops and other similar basic and individualized career services. Prior experience working with WIOA Programs preferred, client recruiting and assessment, employment development, development, training, and referral services, employment procedures and interviewing practices, client case load preparation, recording and coordination of data research
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruit youth or adult participants by visiting schools or working with other resource agencies.
Review applications of potential clients and other parties to set up initial interviews and orientation process and to review the goals of the programs.
Collect documents needed to establish proof of eligibility for WIOA programs; complete MIS records and prepare files for supervisor review and approval.
Administer basic skills and career assessments to new clients and assist clients with labor market research and career research; recommend program enrollments and terminations.
Set up individual educational and employment goals and work experience plans as part of individual development plans.
Track client progress by making telephone calls, worksite/school visitations, or school contacts and using MIS logs.
Maintain follow-up records, monthly reports, and activity enrollments and record case notes and review problem cases with program supervisor for mitigation.
Provide clients with referrals to social services such as job leads, housing assistance, and nutrition programs.
Assist with the coordination, preparation, and presentation of job readiness, interviewing techniques, resume writing, and leadership workshops.
Attend and participate in staff and committee meetings.
Assist in organizing client activities or program design.
Request support services, incentives, and work experience agreements.
Case load preparation, recording and coordination of data research.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field and two or more years of experience in case management, employment services, and social services work. Equivalent combination of experience may be substituted for educational requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required
