AASK's mission is building and strengthening families through relationship ensuring everyone has someone who cares. AASK provides services to adoptive and foster families. We seek Social Workers to join our team of dedicated professionals in any of our three locations; Chandler, Phoenix, Peoria.
Job Description
AASK is seeking full-time Social Workers for the Foster Care and Adoption Program. The Family Specialist will assist families in the adoption or foster care journey by supporting them in parenting children in their homes. Children have complex developmental trauma and may display behavioral challenges, developmental disabilities and/or medically fragile needs, and position requires but is not limited to case management, preparation of detailed assessments, family support and advocacy, education about trauma informed parenting, recommendation and facilitation of services, participation in team meetings, attending court, and meeting other needs expressed by family.
The Family Specialist conducts visits in the family home and is expected to provide both support to the family as well as perform regulatory monitoring. Work is conducted in the field; therefore, candidates must have their own reliable transportation that enables them to travel throughout the Valley. The position will be located in one of the three offices; Phoenix, Chandler or Peoria. AASK reimburses employees for job-related travel.
AASK is not able to provide the clinical supervision needed for application for LCSW as required by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Experience with children in the U.S. child welfare or in case management is preferred, but not required.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license, insurance, and registration.
- Able to obtain a level 1 DPS fingerprint card and clear background screening.
- Must have clear 3-year DMV history.
- Must be 21 or older.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred but not required. Pay differential offered to applicants with bilingual (Spanish) oral and written fluency
Responsibilities:
- Provide case management, support, and advocacy to families in their homes.
- Maintain accurate records of services provided by timely and accurate reporting.
- Maintain positive relationships with families, youth, and other community partners.
- Posess strong communication skills and will be asked to produce a writing sample during the interview process.
- Manage multiple tasks at once and thrive in a fast-paced environment characterized by growth and change.
- Be self-motivated and self-directed.
Compensation: Minimum salary posted, AASK will provide compensation commensurate with experience
