IHS seeks candidates who can create a healing and safe environment for our clients detoxing into bridged care facilities at IHS or in the community. If you're currently learning in any of the nursing assistant programs on Oahu or are about to take the test to become licensed as a CNA, IHS may be able to help you with tuition and test fees!
Essential functions:
1. Demonstrate excellent customer service consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.
2. Answer patient/client calls while on shift and determine how to best help them.
3. Provide physical support for patients/clients with daily activities and personal hygiene; Ensure patients or residents receive an appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
4. Observe, recognize, and report significant guest symptoms to RN or medical providers and take appropriate action, if necessary, under the supervision of the RN or medical provider.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1. Knowledge of medical/nursing best practices and equipment to administer patient care.
2. Strong computer and data entry skills.
3. Strong interpersonal and organization skills.
4. Skilled in preparing and maintaining client records.
5. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Preferred Education and Experience:
1. Nursing certificate from a CNA program.
2. State certified nursing assistant certification.
3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/CPR
4. One (1) year experience working in community health.
